The
Area & Things To Do
Puerto Duquesa is located in the municipality
of Manilva, at the western end of the Costa del Sol in the
province of Malaga, Spain.
Manilva is a traditional village located
in the hills behind Puerto Duquesa, an area that has always
been dedicated to fishing and wine production giving rise
to the “mosto” wine which is famous in the region.
Today Manilva and Puerto Duquesa have been transformed into
one of the most beautiful tourist locations on the Costa
del Sol without losing any of the traditional charm. It
has modern facilities with an abundance of restaurants,
hotels, sporting activities, shops as well as sweeping beaches
and challenging golf courses.
At night, Puerto Duquesa turns into a
unique and special place with plenty of restaurants and
bars to enjoy the evening.
A short walk from Puerto Duquesa is the
village of Sabinillas, which is also part of the municipality
of Manilva. Here you can find all the services you require
such as supermarkets, medical centres, travel agencies etc.
Within easy driving distance, we have
the airports of Malaga (1 hour), Gibraltar (20 minutes)
and Jerez (just over 1 hour).
Manilva is located between Estepona (less
than 10 miles) and Sotogrande (5 miles).
Estepona:
A beautiful coastal town, whose growth is converting into
an important location in the province of Malaga without
losing its traditional character.
Sotogrande:
Known as a tourist destination for the jet-set and home
to some of the best golf courses, such as Valderrama (host
to the 1997 Ryder Cup), Sotogrande & Almenara. Its marina
is well known for its modern design and for luxury holidays,
golf & polo.
Marbella & Puerto Banus:
Are about 25 miles from Puerto Duquesa.
With their cosmopolitan, up-market atmosphere, abundance
of restaurants and some of the best international shops,
there is always a possibility of finding yourself dining
with some famous personalities.
